Poll: guess the gender balance of newly hired tenure track N. American asst. professors of ecology (UPDATE: poll closed)

Once again this year, I’m compiling data on the gender balance of newly hired tenure track N. American asst. professors in ecology and allied fields (e.g., fish & wildlife). The data cover new hires during the 2017-18 job season at all types of institutions, from tiny teaching colleges to huge research universities. Once again, I’m very curious what you think I’ll find. Please take the very short poll below!

I’ll share the data, along with the poll results, in the next few weeks.

p.s. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to compile data on many other dimensions of diversity from publicly-available information. And I recognize that using a gender binary evaluated from names and photos (and pronoun use in Twitter profiles, if available) isn’t ideal.
