Friday links: planning for the fall semester, a taxonomy of zoomers, and more

Also this week: five new Expressions of Concern for Jonathan Pruitt, a calendar for our times, and more. Good news, there are links from Meghan this week! šŸ™‚

From Jeremy:

Proceedings B has issued Expressions of Concern about five papers co-authored by prominent behavioral ecologist Jonathan Pruitt. See here and here for background.

Community college dean Matt Read on what he knows and doesn’t know about the impact of COVID-19 on his institution. (ht Marginal Revolution)

Here’s a periodically-updated list of US college & university plans for the fall. There’s a form where you can add your institution’s plans. (ht Marginal Revolution) Related: here’s a list of 15 options for the fall. (ht Brian)

From Meghan:

Tressie McMillan Cottom on writing in one’s own voice (with lots of other really interesting thoughts and insights, too!)

I am a drinker & family member cameo zoomer. Which are you?

In another sign I’ve been on too many zoom calls, this made me laugh so hard I cried:

Two signs that video must have been made before the pandemic: 1) ack, those people are so close to each other! 2) no children appearing in someone’s lap during the call. (It turns out the video is from 2014.)

A calendar for our times:
